Quatre petits \u00e9chassiers passent l\u2019hiver sur le rivage de notre commune : le tournepierre \u00e0 collier et le b\u00e9casseau variable se reproduisant majoritairement en Scandinavie-Sib\u00e9rie, le grand gravelot pour lequel nous disposons de contr\u00f4les de bagues d\u2019oiseaux des rivages de la mer baltique (Allemagne et Pologne) et le b\u00e9casseau sanderling. \u00c0 noter que l\u2019essentiel de la population de gravelot \u00e0 collier interrompu qui niche sur les plages de la c\u00f4te de Nacre quitte la r\u00e9gion en hiver pour rejoindre le sud de l\u2019Espagne (seuls quelques individus hivernent localement).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les premiers migrateurs hivernants arrivent \u00e0 la fin du mois d\u2019ao\u00fbt et les derniers \u00e0 repartir (les plus nordiques) nous quittent vers la mi-mai. Les oiseaux de ces 4 esp\u00e8ces s\u2019alimentent d\u2019invert\u00e9br\u00e9s (vers, coquillages \u00e9chou\u00e9s, larves\u2026) principalement sur l\u2019estran (zone d\u00e9couverte \u00e0 mar\u00e9e basse). Le b\u00e9casseau sanderling a le dos gris, le ventre blanc et les pattes et le bec noirs. Il est souvent en groupe et s\u2019alimente r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement dans les vagues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Des programmes de suivi des d\u00e9placements des oiseaux sont mis en place par des bagueurs agr\u00e9\u00e9s dans diff\u00e9rents pays, qui posent des combinaisons de bagues color\u00e9es permettant une reconnaissance individuelle des oiseaux. Depuis plusieurs ann\u00e9es, des contr\u00f4les d\u2019oiseaux bagu\u00e9s lors de leur halte migratoire au nord de l\u2019\u00c9cosse (\u00eeles Orcades) sont effectu\u00e9s \u00e0 Lion laissant supposer une origine groenlandaise de la population hivernante. Au mois de septembre dernier, un premier oiseau bagu\u00e9 sur son site de reproduction le 16 juillet dans le nord du Groenland a \u00e9t\u00e9 observ\u00e9 \u00e0 Lion. Il a fait pr\u00e8s de 4 000 km pour passer l\u2019hiver sur la c\u00f4te de Nacre. Certains oiseaux arrivent fatigu\u00e9s par un tel voyage. Les sanderlings sont fid\u00e8les \u00e0 leur site d\u2019hivernage : un individu est observ\u00e9 chaque ann\u00e9e \u00e0 Lion depuis 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ces esp\u00e8ces rencontrent des difficult\u00e9s pour s\u2019alimenter ou se reposer dans certaines conditions li\u00e9es \u00e0 la fr\u00e9quentation humaine et canine des plages. \u00c0 mar\u00e9e haute, les oiseaux peuvent subir des d\u00e9rangements r\u00e9p\u00e9t\u00e9s li\u00e9s aux promeneurs entra\u00eenant des envols successifs mobilisant leurs r\u00e9serves \u00e9nerg\u00e9tiques. Ils peuvent se r\u00e9partir de mani\u00e8re plus dispers\u00e9e \u00e0 mar\u00e9e basse pour s\u2019alimenter mais avec une pr\u00e9f\u00e9rence marqu\u00e9e pour le bord de l\u2019eau. Les p\u00e9riodes les plus compliqu\u00e9es sont l\u2019hiver avec une dur\u00e9e du jour courte, le froid qui n\u00e9cessite de consacrer plus de temps \u00e0 s\u2019alimenter pour r\u00e9sister aux temp\u00e9ratures basses, aux coups de froid et aux temp\u00eates et les cong\u00e9s scolaires, les week-ends et jours ensoleill\u00e9s qui voient une fr\u00e9quentation accrue du public sur les plages.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Vous pouvez aider ces oiseaux \u00e0 passer l\u2019hiver chez nous en organisant vos balades avec les chiens \u00e0 mar\u00e9e basse<\/em><\/strong> en pr\u00e9f\u00e9rant un trajet sur la zone haute du sable mouill\u00e9<\/em><\/strong>. Les oiseaux sont davantage effray\u00e9s par les chiens, identifi\u00e9s comme pr\u00e9dateurs, que par les humains. Bien s\u00fbr, il sera utile toute l\u2019ann\u00e9e pour les promeneurs de contourner \u00e0 distance les groupes d\u2019oiseaux pos\u00e9s en alimentation ou en repos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
